"Orchid Visions" is a Costa Rican Metal band that started at the end of 2006 in the Heredia province. With the decision of Michael Hernandez (guitar) and Rodney Calvo (bass) to perform a band which could demostrate their original english songs and their influences at stage.After 2 long years of rehearsals and a lot of musicians who performed the OV's line up from the beginning, the band started the development of his own genre as an Epic/Fantasy Metal with Lyric female singers and melodic riff guitars.That's how the band became as "Orchid Visions".The band started their performances at Costa Rican stages in february 2008 with: Giovanna Chacon (singer); Rodney Calvo (bass and backing vocals); Cesar Bermudez (drums); and Michael Hernandez (guitar).Between march and april 2008, Cesar left the line-up, to leave the drums in the hands of Carlos Quesada (from the celtic/folk band "Peregrino Gris").In September 2008, the band suffered the breaking-off of Giovanna as the lead singer, and Rodney as the bass guitar player and one of the OV's main composers. Both for personal reasons.At the end of 2009 and the beginning of 2010, Michael remains as the band's leader and starts to look for new musicians and for a new beginning.In collaboration with new musicans: Marylin Murillo (singer), as well as Daniel Salazar (bass) and Gabriel Valerio (drums); they have started to record new singles and composing new songs for his new EP material. Unfortunately, Marylin leaves the band after the first single was recorded at Ensamble Productions in january 2010. On the next week, 2 soprano singers were included in the band, Karla Hernandez and Gina Vega. Adding it the gothic,folk and mystic influences that Michael was looking for since the beginning of Orchid Visions.Nowadays the band is still active at the Costa Rican stages also they're still recording their new material, and recently they've added two new members in their line-up: Bryan Salas on the bass guitar and Rodrigo Lepiz on the rythm guitar
